The Refugenius

Inspired by award-winning Lao American poet, playwright, essayist, cultural producer, and philanthropist, Saymoukda Duangphouxay Vongsay, who  “... recognizes the tremendous impact that theater has on perceptions of people and communities.”

Vongsay has been awarded numerous fellowships to continue the work that W. Kamau Bell calls “revolutionary.”

She is an incredible leader who believes that artists can be “bold architects of social change.” Vongsay works to share diverse stories and open doors for others. She is an example of someone who is always lifting as they rise.
